Easy Parish Fundraising

Parishes rely on various fundraisers to help balance their annual budget. St Katharine Drexel does not run an annual parish festival like many parishes. Rather, we rely on smaller fundraising efforts. 

Scrip

One of the biggest fundraisers for SKD is our scrip sales. This is a simple project that doesn’t take much effort - just a little bit of planning ahead as you shop. Last fiscal year, we made almost $3,700 from our sale of scrip gift cards. We could be making significantly more if we had larger participation in or scrip program. The scrip sales programworksthis way: you purchase gift cards at face value and then use the cards to do you regular shopping at merchants or online. You can learn more by stopping at the scrip table (usually in the Hospitality Room or Parish Office) after a weekend Mass, or contact Deacon Randy ([email protected]).

Many of the national vendors on the scrip program allow you to use the RaiseRight app (available on both Apple & Android devices) or the Shop with Scrip website to purchase eCards or to register the plastic scrip card you purchased through us and then reload your card. Purchasing eCards can be done on-the-go; even while you're in the line to check out at the store!

Last quarter we earned $550.78 from online purchases. There were only 15 families that used this app. We can greatly increase our earnings from this if more families sign up and use the app.

Kwik Trip Scrip: A bonus with the scrip program is the Kwik Trip extra rebate program. If you do your in-store purchases at Kwik Trip using a scrip card purchased through us, we get a bonus rebate of 10% of your purchases. This is paid to us quarterly, but there must be a minimum of $10 in rebates before anything is paid for the quarter. Last quarter we received $17.71 for your scrip purchases at Kwik Trip.

Amazon Smile

Many of you shop online with Amazon. If you use the Amazon Smile program to log on to Amazon, SKD receives 0.5% of your purchase as a donation from Amazon. Use this link to designate SKD as your charity of choice to donate to. Be sure to purchase Amazon scrip from us to do your Amazon shopping - it's an easy way to double dip!. Last quarter, Amazon donated $44.78 to us from the Amazon Smile program. Make sure to sign up to make this number grow!

Recycling Printer Ink Cartridges

If you turn in your used ink cartridges from your home printer to us, we can send them to a cartridge recycler who pays us from 10 cents to a dollar for each cartridge. Our first earnings on this was $38.30.
